What was once known to people as the park at Haigh Hall has benefited from lots of improvements in recent months, not least the construction of a new Adventure Golf course.
Haigh Woodland Park Adventure Golf course is situated on the site of the former pitch and putt course, which wasn’t particularly busy.
The opposite is true of the Adventure Golf course, which was packed out when we played a round.
Think of it as a step up from the old notion of a concrete crazy golf course, with pleasant surroundings and a real effort made to create an attractive something to do with the kids.
I really liked the animals and boat/water feature.
It costs £4 to play, which includes equipment hire and a score card.
And I won. Just saying.
Haigh has always nice to visit and now has arguably more to do than Heaton Park. Pack a picnic and make a day of it or get something to eat and drink in the visitor centre courtyard, which has also been much improved.
