When a herd of prehistoric animatronic creatures visit Manchester and you’ve got a five-year-old who loves dinosaurs, you know you better check it out.
Being a bit of a Jurassic Park fan myself back in the 90s, I was also pretty excited about the Jurassic Kingdom tour visiting Philips Park (not far from Man City’s Etihad stadium).
The dinosaurs were pretty impressive. Of course not as lifelike as those created from dino DNA, but that’s probably a good thing considering the carnage that happened after the first 30 minutes of the film!
As you might expect, the giant T-Rex was the star of the show, though for me, not quite as menacing as the caged Raptors.
It was a fun trip out – and if the weather’s good you could easily make a day of it.
Jurassic Kingdom ends in Manchester next Sunday (23 July), then heads to Blackpool, Glasgow, Newcastle and Leeds.
